What will happen when you die?

Have you ever thought about what will happen to you when you die? It is something we don’t want to think about, but it is worth thinking about. Whether you are a Christian or not, whether you agree with my beliefs or not, you should still think about your eternity. You should carefully take time to consider what you believe about the afterlife because this life is short and none of us are guaranteed tomorrow. Eternity is forever, so we want to make sure we get it right. In this post, I am going to share some things Jesus said about eternity and the afterlife. I realize that some people reading this may not believe in Jesus or trust what the Bible says. If that’s you, I am not trying to start an argument or debate. I have chosen to trust in Jesus for my own reasons, and you must do the same. Believe it or not, I take a true interest in what other people believe and why. I am simply asking you to consider your eternity in light of what Jesus had to say. So here are some things he said: In Matthew 7:13, Jesus said, “Wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it, but small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” In Matthew 13:40-43, He said, “Just as the weeds are gathered and burned with fire, so will it be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers, and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.” In John 14:1-3, Jesus says, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” In John 11:25-26, He says, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies. And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” In John 3:16, Jesus says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Jesus said a whole lot more about eternal life and eternity (you can just google what did Jesus say about eternity to find more). I hope that you will take a moment today to read these Scriptures with open eyes and open hearts. I hope that you will take a moment to think about what you believe about eternity. I hope that you will take a moment to consider Jesus.
